Dreyer and Reinbold Racing

In 1999, Indianapolis businessman Dennis Reinbold and partner Eric De Bord formed Dreyer & Reinbold Racing and signed Robbie Buhl to be the driver. The team made its debut in January of 2000 at the Walt Disney World Speedway for the IndyCar season opening race. That event proved to be an impressive one as Dreyer & Reinbold Racing went to record its first win. Buhl, who also started on the front row of the Indianapolis 500 in 2002, soon retired from racing in 2004 and became co-owner of the team with Reinbold.

Dreyer and Reinbold Racing's alumni include Buhl, Steve Knapp, Memo Gidley, Felipe Giaffone, Roger Yasukawa, Thiago Medeiros, Jeff Bucknam, Buddy Lazier, Al Unser Jr., Ryan Briscoe, Sarah Fisher, Townsend Bell, Milka Duno, Buddy Rice, Mike Conway, Tomas Scheckter, John Andretti, Darren Manning and Davey Hamilton.

Not only did the 2009 season turn out to be eventful year, but a historic one for DRR as well. For the 93rd running of the Indianapolis 500, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing qualified four cars for the greatest spectacle in racing. The driver line-up included Mike Conway, Davey Hamilton, Milka Duno, and John Andretti rounded out the four-car effort thanks to a partnership between DRR and the legendary Richard Petty. The team went on to score its highest finish since 2006 when British rookie Mike Conway earned a 3rd place result at Infineon Raceway. DRR maintained a full schedule as they entered two to three cars in every event, except for the Indianapolis 500.

The 2009 season also marked Dreyer & Reinbold Racing's 10th season of affiliation with Racing for Kids, an organization for which Buhl is a spokesman. In its 20 years, Racing for Kids has visited more than 15,000 children in hospitals in local race markets across the globe.
