Justin qualifies 9th at Twin Ring Motegi
18-September-2009Justin and Dale Coyne Racing had a successful first day’s running at Twin Ring Motegi in Japan, qualifying the #18 Z-Line Designs car in 9th position with a four-lap average speed of 199.489 mph. Scott Dixon took pole position for Chip Ganassi Racing (202.031 mph) with KV Racing’s Mario Moraes alongside him on the front row.
"I was very happy with qualifying today," said Justin.
"The team had worked hard on the set-up and the car felt great. Every lap I gained confidence and with that came the speed. It's great to see the progress we've made once again. Qualifying inside the top ten on speed means those slow foundation steps at the start of the year are paying off. I hope we can back it up with a strong race tomorrow to really help us in the championship."The Indy Japan 300 starts at noon local time tomorrow (Saturday Sept. 19).
